Business blooms – Mill View Garden Centre

Growing business

During the 1960’s, Frank Dallimore and his son Colin started growing vegetables on recently purchased land around Ladder Hill in Wheatley.
Mill View Garden Centre has been growing ever since.

Mill View Garden Centre remains to this day a family business run by Colin’s daughter Katie, and they still sell vegetables grown on site.

From its early beginnings, Mill View Garden Centre has grown into a thriving business. Here you will find a well stocked garden centre, shop and coffee shop.

GARDEN CENTRE
Mill View Garden Centre stock a wide range of plants, bulbs and seeds. The choice is endless and there’s something for everyone, from gardening beginners to those who are more adventurous. The stock changes from season to season and you will find new products every week. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Mark for example has been with Mill View Garden Centre for 50 years. Mark and all members of staff are always on hand to provide valuable advice.

There is a working nursery based at Mill View Garden Centre called Silk Tree. They specialise in sculptural, specimen, and unusual plants. The main areas of growing are Wisteria, Grape Vines, Climbers grown to 10ft, Cloud Trees, Jungle Style Plants, Ferns, Grape Vines, and Japanese Style Plants.

In 2016, the Mill View Coffee Shop opened its doors.

All of their delicious food is home made and prepared on the premises. Come along and sample the large variety of scrumptious cakes, toasties and jacket potatoes, or just stop for a coffee whilst shopping in the garden centre.

A selection of toasties are available as well as lots of toppings for jacket potatoes. Ask the staff for the Soup of the Day and seasonal board. Vegan and gluten free cakes are also available.

A real treat is the Full English Breakfast available ALL DAY (with vegetarian option).

The Coffee Shop is popular with visiting groups such as Book and Motorcycle clubs and the MS Society.
