Great Taste – A menu of delights at Thame Food Festival

Hot Food , Hot Stars.

Thame Food Festival is going to be sizzling this year!

The main arena space will be dominated by Savage BBQ and their FREE fire cage demonstrations. Born from a passion for the great outdoors, they will be sharing how to cook amazing fire-food for family and friends. This will be topped off with the latest hot star joining the headline on the Big Cookery Stage – John Whaite. He will be taking to the stage alongside several other chef and baking stars including the winner of the 2022 Great British Bake-Off – Syabria Yusoff.

This fiery combination of familiar faces will be celebrating food in its many forms over the weekend of the 30th September and 1st October. With demonstrations from several past Great British Bake-Off winners and contestants including Giuseppe Dell’Anno, David Atherton, Jurgen Krauss, Janusz Domagala, Val Stones and of course long-term frequent visitor to the festival Steven Carter-Bailey. Other festival favourites will be Dave Mooney, Alex Hollywood, Lucie Ellis and Paula McIntyre who will be joining from Northern Ireland where she is known for her BBC programme Hamely Kitchen.

Cooking by Fire
Savage BBQ will really increase the heat; with fire cage demonstrations. Find out how to make Korean style pulled pork and vegetable fritters that will make your mouth water. Go on a culinary journey with traditional Greek style cooking by flame. Watch and enjoy the sights, smells…and then enjoy a taste of what’s cooking.

Tasty Treats
The usual wonderful mix of delicious food will be on offer in the Street Food market or support the extensive range of carefully selected, passionate Artisan producers. Whether it is something sweet or savoury…hot or cold…vegan or vegetarian. A guaranteed myriad of food and drink delights to enjoy there and then or to take away and savour in another moment.

Something for Everyone
Making sure there is something to suit everyone, there will again be an interactive area of masterclasses including cocktails, cheese and even how to master your air fryer! Along with Humble Country shopping marquee, live music and the always popular pop-up pub by FestivAles. For the littlest visitors, there will be the dedicated Children’s Activity area by local charity Thomley, dog shows and demonstrations by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, circus skills workshops and they can even turn their hand to doing a bit of cookery with Fun Kitchen workshops specially designed for children age three and over.

Ticket prices remain the same as last year and are available online now, with family tickets only able to be booked online and priority tickets available until the 15th September. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day and once within the festival site all the music, demonstration, interviews, circus workshops and masterclasses are free.
