Simply Fine Art – ‘One By One’ exhibition at fitch&fellows

Art and soul

Both a gallery and a shop fitch&fellows celebrates wonderful creativity and craftsmanship.

For fitch&fellows owner, creativity runs in her blood. Susannah Fellows once displayed her talents on the West End stage.

Now she displays the creative talents of artists and craftspeople on the walls and in the display cabinets of her business in Thame’s Buttermarket.

A gallery and a shop, fitch&fellows will fire the creative juices. It’s a wonderful place to find original art and design for you, or as a very special and personal gift for a friend or a loved one.

At fitch&fellows you will find oil, watercolour and mixed media paintings, sculptures, glass, wood, ceramics, leather goods and beautiful pieces of jewellery.

Susannah is an enthusiastic supporter of creative craftsmanship and is fired by a passion for anything hand-made and original.

June, and art is busting out all over.

It’s Bucks Art Weeks (7 – 22 June).

As part of this annual celebration of the arts, fitch&fellows welcomes two artists in residence.

Bronwen Coussens is a local ceramicist who started working with clay about 16 years ago and is now lucky enough to have her own studio. She soon found her passion in hand building her pots rather than throwing on the wheel. This method is slow and deliberate which allows her to ‘feel’ what she is making whilst developing each pot organically so that one pot is never the same as another. Her inspiration is mainly derived from the coastline interpreting the shaped and colours of the sea, sand and rocks.

Kerry Newth is a Jewellery designer. Her designs explore texture and form using traditional processes of granulation and reticulation in gold and silver.

Kerry creates a range of women’s jewellery from bespoke neckpieces to feminine earrings and rings. The collections are inspired by organic growth patterns in the natural world, especially sea life. She creates raised
textured surfaces of incredible intricacy.

As well as celebrating Bucks Art Weeks, fitch&fellows will be hosting an exhibition throughout June. Called ‘One By One’, the exhibition is a celebration of a number of artists who’s work will adorn the walls of fitch&fellows. Every artist has selected a favourite work. One that they are particularly proud of and is representative of their style and talent.

Look out for the work of artists such as Fiona Buszard, Marian Hyland, Steve Daggitt, Janine Phillips, Henry Peplow, Debbie Farrell, Angela Fielder, Gerry Coles and Mia Babb.

The objects in Susannah’s gallery and shop are infused with witt and charm. Some classic in style and some surprising in their nature. One thing they all have in common is they have all been hand crafted by a skilled artist or designer.
