TURN END TURNS 50

That garden of delights that is Turn End celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Martin Bygate, Chairman of Turn End Trust, tells us how this is to be celebrated.

2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Turn End, the “quintessential architect-designed house of the sixties” (RIBA Journal April 2016) in the heart of Haddenham, designed and built by Haddenham resident and architect Peter Aldington, who has the rare distinction of having had all 9 houses he has designed listed, more than any other living architect in the UK. Turn End garden, created as a natural extension to the house has become a source of inspiration for gardeners around the world. To celebrate, Turn End Trust, a charity set up to promote the integration of building and garden design and to secure this unique place for the future benefit of the wider community, has announced three very special headline events.
